The SS12 Men’s Laurel Wreath collection welcomes a new designer to the fold, Kenneth Mackenzie founder and designer of the influential Brit 6876, label named for the Paris student riots of 1968 and the 1976 birth of punk. His label has nurtured an obsessive fan base with style insiders since its conception in 1995, all going doe eyed for its functional but fuss free design.

Given Fred Perry’s and Kenneth’s anti establishment credentials the partnership makes perfect sense. The SS12 collection blends Mackenzie’s acute attention to detail and preference for architectural silhouettes and construction with Fred Perry’s original urban street wear aesthetic, re-imagining the core iconic Perry pieces; the Fred Perry shirt, the Harrington style jacket, v-neck sweater and cardigan, slim-fit shirting and pencil-leg trousers.

“My guiding design principal is to develop an evolving wardrobe reinterpreting classic menswear, epitomized by Fred Perry, by partnering sharp, attitudinal design with proven traditional materials and construction” says Kenneth Mackenzie, designer for Fred Perry Laurel Wreath.

The re-working of the Fred Perry shirt, woven shirting and outerwear are all collection highlights and, wherever possible, Fred Perry sources and utilizes British made fabric and British factories to make select products.
